Avalanches may release spontaneously on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Persistent weak layer (slab avalanches)

Avalanches may release spontaneously on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a large truck or destroy several houses (size 4). Remote triggering is possible.

Både onsdag og torsdag er det ventet mye vind og nedbør kombinert med store snømengder. Det antas at det har lagt seg opp store fokksnøflak i mange himmelretninger. Det finnes vedvarende svake lag i snødekket som nå får mye snø oppå seg på kort tid. Det er sannsynlig at store skred løsner av seg selv. Enkelte skred kan bli svært store.
